Hot forger

In this role, you will be removing hot metal parts from a furnace and feeding them to a large forging press.

Key tasks

  • Confer with other workers about machine setups and operational specifications.
  • Operate gas/electric furnaces to heat metal to proper temperature prior to forging.
  • Place metal pieces in furnaces, then remove them.
  • Measure and inspect forged parts to ensure conformance to product specifications.
  • Position and move metal wire through a series of dies that compress and shape stock to form die impressions.
  • Read work orders or blueprints to determine specified tolerances and sequences of operations for machine setup.

Job Requirements/skills

Candidates must:

  • Factory experience – 1 year.
  • NVQ -level 2 manufacturing related.
  • Be able to read production paperwork in order to understand each job's printed work instructions.
  • Demonstrate solid basic math skills and be able to read a ruler and vernier.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop and also lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity – have good hand and eye co-ordination.
  • Must be able to tolerate hot work environment.

HOURS

37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday

Minimum wage or living wage during 3 month probation period - on completion of a successful probation period, wage will increase to forging rate.

Industrial Sewing Machinists – Full time, permanent.

Do you enjoy working with your hands to make tangible products, do you have an eye for detail? Put your strengths to work as a sewing machine operator with our company. You will work as part of a team producing harnesses and slings, in addition to operating machinery, you will learn to inspect, and repair finished products as needed. Full training and development will be provided.

Tool maker

We have a vacancy for a full time Tool maker to join our Engineering team in Llanberis.

The Role:

Reporting to the Tool room Manager the job holder will work as part of a team of tool room manufacturing and engineering staff.

Duties to include:

  • The manufacture of forging dies, press tools, CNC fixtures and other tooling.
  • Repair and maintain tools and to support general manufacture for the business as and when required.
  • Experienced in operating Grinding Machines, Centre Lathes, manual Milling machine, Spark Eroders, Wire Eroders, and other relevant tool room machinery.

Essential Criteria:

  • Be a time served Tool maker or hold relevant qualifications gained in this field of work.
  • The ability to multi task and work within time constraints to deliver projects to expectations.
  • Attention to detail, working to tight tolerances and regularly checking work.
  • Conversant with toolroom machines including Millers, Lathes, Grinders and EDM Machines and be able to read and understand engineering drawings. The ability to generate CNC programs for the Milling/Turning an advantage.
  • Liaise with production staff over tooling issues.
  • Must be a problem solver.
  • Team player and a self- starter.
