Belay Master

The safest belay carabiner for climbers. Read more

For the master belayer.

Closing the clip on the Belay Master ensures the carabiner is safe for use. It can only be closed when the gate is screwed shut.

When closed, the clip keeps the carabiner in its strongest orientation, prevents devices and knots from moving onto the spine, eliminates possible cross loading due to rotation. This feature makes the Belay Master the perfect belay carabiner for those new to belaying.

FEATURES

Belay carabiner for consistent rope control and compatibility with belay devices

Belay carabiners give smooth and confident belaying with tube and assisted breaking belay devices. They have full section top bars for consistent rope control and reduced rope wear. Their shape resists flipping into sub-optimal orientations when belaying, acting to ensure the carabiner loads along its strongest axis.

Nylon clip ensures carabiner loads correctly

The Belay Master's nylon clip prevents accidental opening of the locking mechanism, and ensures the carabiner loads in its strongest orientation. This makes an ideal belay carabiner for new climbers.

Full section top bar for consistent rope handling and increased longevity

A rope running over a full section top bar has more consistent handling characteristics than one running over an I-Beam surface. Our belay carabiners feature full section top bars for greater control rope control. Ropes loading over full section bar also bend less than those loaded over I-Beam surfaces, increasing rope longevity.

Locking gate types

Screwgate

Manual locking gate requiring screwing/unscrewing of the barrel to lock/unlock.

Kwiklock

Auto-locking gate requiring two distinct actions to open.

Locksafe

Auto-locking gate requiring three distinct actions to open.

Durolock

Auto-locking gate requiring four distinct operations to open. Force must be maintained throughout or the gate returns to safe (locked).

Kwiklock ANSI

Same gate action as Kwiklock but the connector is also required to exceed 16kN in minor axis, side load and gate face tests.

Locksafe ANSI

Same gate action as Locksafe but the connector is also required to exceed 16kN in minor axis, side load and gate face tests.

Safety guaranteed

Huge fan of this belay master. The combination of the locking mechanism and safety gate is a game changer, incredibly secure and takes the question out of the equation, you know when that gates closed its locked and not opening. Build quality is excellent.

Great for stopping carabiner from turning

Very useful to keep carabiner in the correct position, but a bit fiddly to attach to harness as the screwgate has to be done up for the nylon clip to close

Non cross load

The best belaying carabiner in my opinion.

I love the fact the clip will not shut until the carabiner is screwed down which makes it easier when buddy checking.

And the fact it reduces the risk of side loading puts your mind to ease while belaying especially when your climber is at a difficult part and you just focus on them
