The Big Canopy Campout is an annual, internationally coordinated event bringing together hundreds of people across the globe to spend a weekend camping in their local forests. From professional tree climbers to families exploring their nearest woodland, participants unite around a shared passion for trees, nature, and the protection of the native old growth forests that remain. It is a celebration of our diverse world of forests, and a reminder of why preserving them for future generations matters.
This year, all funds raised will go directly to the Friends of Glenan Wood — a small charitable organisation that secured community ownership of a 146-hectare fragment of Scottish Atlantic Rainforest on the Cowal Peninsula in Argyll in 2019. The team works tirelessly to remove invasive species, protect against overgrazing, and open this rare and remarkable woodland to the public — inspiring all who visit to understand and champion the importance of healthy, native ecosystems.
