The Boa is hot forged from 14mm aluminium bar to give it the 30kN major axis rating required for rescue loads. The massive curved basket copes with even the busiest rigging set up and still allows devices to settle comfortably. The impressive size and ergonomics ensure it can be operated by even the largest hands with the chunkiest of gloves.

DMM's patented Taperlock closing mechanism increases gate push-in and cross gate strength using a special flared profile on the nose of the carabiner, as well as allowing a snag free connection for your ropes, slings and devices.

Locking gate types

Screwgate

Manual locking gate requiring screwing/unscrewing of the barrel to lock/unlock.

Kwiklock

Auto-locking gate requiring two distinct actions to open.

Locksafe

Auto-locking gate requiring three distinct actions to open.

Durolock

Auto-locking gate requiring four distinct operations to open. Force must be maintained throughout or the gate returns to safe (locked).

Kwiklock ANSI

Same gate action as Kwiklock but the connector is also required to exceed 16kN in minor axis, side load and gate face tests.

Locksafe ANSI

Same gate action as Locksafe but the connector is also required to exceed 16kN in minor axis, side load and gate face tests.

Beast of a carabiner

Perfect for rope anchors, have managed to fit 4 clove hitches on one before but fits 3 comfortably. My go to carabiner for building anchors

The Daddy!

The Boa is an awesome carabiner! Able to accommodate three clove hitches for those big rope belay anchors without compromising strength or usability. The smooth nose makes it dead easy for sliding rope, slings or pretty much any other material in and out of the biner and the smooth screwgate action is very confidence inspiring. I love mine and always climb with at least two!

Nice big chonky HMS. One of the few twistlocks that I have that hasn't got sticky with use in gritty situations.

The best 'big' HMS carabiner. Wide opening, easy to use, can take several clove hitches and good for Italian hitches too. I think its worth a little extra weight to carry one or two of these most of the time.
